Activity 1: The Legend of New Zealand
1. The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.



2.New Zealanders are also called kiwis but kiwi is not a fruit. It is New Zealand’s native flightless bird.
3.The official language is English and Maori.

    Thank you for sharing such awesome facts! People in other countries always get confused on why we call ourselves kiwis.Our indigenous Maori people called the kiwi bird the hidden bird of Tāne, the God of the forest. Have you ever seen a kiwi bird in real life?
